Senior Test Engineer Lead

CompSci Resources, LLC, is currently seeking permanent hire senior test engineer lead with five or more years of experience in all phases of QA/testing. This person must have one or more years of experience leading a team of four or more people and have a strong enough background in automated testing (2 years minimum) to provide guidance, answer technical questions and mentor the team's test engineers.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, extensive experience with automated testing, and will work on-site with a dynamic team of engineers. This position requires strong analytical and problem solving skills, fluency in querying relational databases and in scripting languages to perform functional testing of Java web-based applications, and systems level testing in lab environments. As a team lead, this position will be responsible for mentoring a team of four or more testers.

This position requires a thorough understanding of QA methodologies including functional, integration, system, usability, and regression testing principles and techniques. A minimum of two years experience with automated test tools such as LoadRunner, Quick Test Professional (QTP), Test Director or Quality Center, and Watchfire Bobby. Two years experience using scripting languages and SQL, designing test cases and scripts, analysis of test results, and defect tracking. A minimum of two years experience using UNIX and VBScript is also necessary. This person must be outgoing, possess a good attitude, and a willingness to mentor others.

Other expertise desired, but not required, includes familiarity with enterprise security tools in distributed architectures, and experience with configuration management tools such as PVCS.

Additional requirements:

  • U.S. citizenship or Permanent Resident status required

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • A results oriented approach to meeting goals

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team with managers, end users, analysts, technical writers, and developers

  • Ability to successfully work independently

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize

  • Good leadership skills
